Happy Easter and Art of Sand
Devin and I had a great second Easter together. We had both hid eggs for each other without t
elling one another so first thing in the morning we searched for eggs around the house. I did a good job hiding my eggs because Devin didn't find any of them while he was hiding his eggs. After we had some breakfast we headed to a sand sculpting festival, The Art of Sand in Cocoa Beach. It was AMAZING. It is unbelievable the sculptures tha
t they made out of sand. The start by compacting the sand over a wood crate frame and then carve the sand away while fixing it with a spray of water and glue. The used special sand from a quarry in Central Florida. The sculp
tors came from around the world and stayed two and a half weeks to make their sculptures. Of course while we were there we also visited the Easter bunny. Much less creepy than the one I saw in Kelly's photos. We tried out our sand sculpting skills as well and we made a dragon. You are never too old to play in the sand. After we took in all the impressive sand sculptures we headed to the beach. The ocean was a gorgeous color and we saw dolphins playing off shore. Sadly, our time at the beach was all to short because I had to head to work in the afternoon. All in all a very awesome Easter. I hope everyone else had as much fun.

Sea cucumbers are awesome
Devin and I had an amazing afternoon at the beach. We arrived at low tide and the rocks that are normally under the waves were exposed and had trapped
water making little tidal pools. We went to go check out the rocks and there were big formations that looked like coral, but after looking them up, I no
w know are a honeycomb tube worm colonies. The best part was we found sea cucumbers! The first one we found looked like a giant turd and I was so excited that I was jumping up and down and I ran back to the car to get my camera. I wanted to sit and
watch it but Devin encouraged me to keep walking along the beach so we did. It's a good thing because we found another sea cucumber and it was much prettier than the first and it had orange spikes. Needless to say I spent a lot of time taking pictures of the sea cucumbers and watching them. They don't do much; but they are totally awesome. I tried looking them up but non of the sea cucumbers listed in my book looked like the ones we saw. We also got to watch a group of dolphins playing off shore and some of them were even surfing in the waves. I love the ocean.

I'm engaged!
So here's the story...Devin and I were supposed to spend the morning together going to the zoo and the
beach. I was really looking forward to it since it seems like I haven't been able to spend much time with him recently. However, at 7:20 this morning I got a call from Kristin asking me to cover her Gymboree classes (she sounded awful) and so I was really, really, really upset that I wouldn't get to spend the morning with Devin. I called Julie to see if she could take Kristin's last two classes so I could at least have lunch with Devin before I had to go to work at Sea Scape. Julie came in and covered the las
t three classes so I got to spend three hours with Devin.
After a quick lunch we went to our favorite beach (the one where we've seen sea turtles and a shark). We walked along the beach looking for shells and when I wanted to turn around and head back to the blanket he wanted to walk a little bit farther "to check out the rocks". When we got to the rocks he got down on one knee. I thought we were going to make sand castles or something so I got down on my knees too and then he pulled out my ring. For a while he was quiet and I started crying and then he asked me If I would spend the rest of my life with him which I of course said yes to. Then we spent the rest of our time relaxing, watching the waves, admiring my ring, and taking pictures of the spot where he proposed, of my ring, an dof us. I was glowing the rest of the day, or so I was told.

Launching rockets
Devin and I both had fun building rockets a while ago and we finally got some decent weather which means
we had our rocket launch today. We went to a park in Viera with lots of space and set up our launch pad. We launched Devin's rocket first which was a two stage. It had a really awesome flight, especially when the second engine went off, but a not so awesome landing. We think the wadding was packed too tight and it basically was crumpled into the ground. The second rocket was one I built for my interview with Epic. It also had a good flight but we didn't see where it landed. I thought we had lost it but after half an hour of searching we finally found it. The other two rockets also had good flights and Devin caught them before they even had a chance to land. While we were out there we saw sand hill cranes flying by as well as white pelicans which are pretty rare.
After rockets we grabbed lunch and then enjoyed the lovely weather walking around Turkey Creek where we saw squirrels, gar, hard shell turtles, soft shell turtles, and an armadillo.

Alice in Wonderland
Devin and I finally went to go see Alice in Wonderland. I think I have been looking fo
rward to this movie for over a year. I really really liked it, although, I'm not absolutely in love with it. It would be hard to completely live up to my expectations after anticipating it for so long. The best part is the gorgeous, whimsical world that you get transported to. I wish I could think up things like that. I also really liked the quote: "Mad Hatter: Have I gone mad? Alice: I'm afraid so, You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret. All the best people are." I am happy to say that most of my friends are entirely bonkers.

Strawberry fields forever
Devin insisted on surprising me this morning so after we had breakfast he blindfolded me an
d helped me get into his truck. We drove for about 5 minutes before we stopped and he helped me get out of the truck. When he took off the blindfold we were in a big parking lot and I still had no idea what was going on; then he told me that we were going to the Strawberry Festival. We had talked about it a loooooong time ago and he wanted to surprise me. The weather was warm, sunny, and perfect for walking around the festival which was in Wickham Park. There were lots of craft vendors set up as well as a car show with lots a very fancy cars. Devin bought us strawberry shortcakes which were delicious and fresh strawberries to take home. He was very happy about getting to spoil me and I had a nice relaxing morning.
